Club House Changing Course

Club House Changing Course

Business, Improvements, Social
It's not just the seasons that are a-changing. The Board is currently interviewing several potential new management companies to operate Limestone Bay Club for us. Food and beverage service at the clubhouse will be closed for a bit to give us time to get on our new heading and insure we are on course to provide exactly the right fit to both satisfy our Club's charter and serve our Members' needs. But we have already seen some very exciting destinations in the charts that we have been shown. So stay tuned for updates and we'll let you know when our new skipper is on board and we're about ready to cast off.

Wireless Upgrade

Wireless Upgrade

Improvements, Social
We completed a significant upgrde of the marina’s wireless access point in September 2013 and it now appears to be working exceptionally well. It has been tested at all four corners of the marina and the signal never drops below 70%, even at the picnic tables by the river. The speed tests showed nearly 8 Mb/s download speeds in most areas, and never dips below 4.5 Mb/s. Of course, these numbers will fluctuate depending on the number of simultaneous users, or if a user is potentially surrounded by metal in the bottom of a boat. Please let management know if you have any issues with wireless access. Shipshape and Bristol Fashion!

Shipshape and Bristol Fashion!

Safety
It's not just good seamanship to keep our boats and docks shipshape… now it's the rule. The Board has ammended our House Rules to include a provision to help maintain a pleasing and nautical appearance in our marina. Rule 33 reads: All watercraft harbored in the Marina shall be aesthetically maintained as determined by the Board. Boat decks shall be kept free from non-nautical clutter; plastic wrap and tarps are not allowed for shading devices (shrink wrap is allowed for the winter season but must be removed by the summer rental period) and vessel exterior shall not have excessive mold or mildew. Most of us take great pride in one of our most prized and enjoyed possessions. Let's all make sure that we project that pride and seamanship to our slipmates and visitors…
